Holy Moses: An Appreciation of Genesis and Exodus as Literature and Theology

Big questions and ideas, emanating from ordinary American folks, is one of the acclaimed author’s signature styles. But Marilynne Robinson’s style is far from “folksy.” Her major awarding-winning novels and essay collections reveal a deep, sophisticated mind, formed from a lifetime of reading, writing, and teaching great literature — great literature like the Bible. It’s a book in which she is well-versed, and is currently working on a new book about the Old Testament.

Now retired after 25 years of teaching at the famed Iowa Writers Workshop, Robinson will share some insights on the subject during her campus visit that includes three distinct lectures for the annual Humanities Lecture Series.
