This year’s Holocaust Memorial Lecture will feature a lecture by Jason De León, professor of anthropology at UCLA, titled “The Land of Open Graves: Understanding the Current Politics of Migrant Life and Death along the US/Mexico Border.” The lecture is co-sponsored by the Center for the Humanities and the Program in American Culture Studies.

De León is an anthropologist at UCLA whose research interests include theories of violence, materiality, Latin American migration, photoethnography, forensic science and archaeology of the contemporary.
